Paul O’Grady and Scott Gabrielsen, both former professional lacrosse players, lead Mesa Fresh 2018 as coaches.

“Our team will focus on the critical lacrosse skills and concepts the coaches believe are essential to successfully compete at the high school level and beyond. We are coaching this team as if they are collegiate players now” said O’Grady, of Mesa Fresh 2018.

“Our coaching and playing style is “play fast” and a ‘We’ not ‘Me’ based approach and we are proud to Coach some of the best players in the area,” said Gabrielsen.

O’Grady is a Villanova grad and former Philadelphia Wing and has had much success in the coaching ranks having coached for the last 24 years at Episcopal Academy, Malvern Prep and for the last seven years at The Haverford School where he led the defense and helped the team to a 29-0 record and a National Championship in 2011. Recognized as one of the top defensive coaches in the game, O’Grady is a Wings World Champion and Haverford School Hall of Famer.

Gabrielsen partners with his former Wings teammate and jointly leads the Mesa Fresh 2018 Coaching Staff with primary focus on offense. Gabrielsen’s recent coaching success has been Championship seasons at both the U13A and U15A levels for West Chester Youth Lacrosse in the Chester County Lacrosse Assoc. Gabrielsen brings a wealth of playing experience to the coaching ranks as a High School and College All American.  He earned five Championship rings with the Wings and has been recognized for his playing career by being a 5X Hall of Famer.
